NYB Consulting has participated in projects and led teams of consultants hired directly by our client or via international organizations, such as IATA Consulting (the strategic consultancy division of the International Air Transport Association) and Lufthansa Consulting. In parallel we have been invited to lecture airline management courses with the AirBusiness Academy (an Airbus/EADS Group company) and IATA Training.

Recent examples of projects we have led include:

USA, 2017 – subject matter expert for a client in the air transport industry: route study and market assessment for a new start-up airline.

Georgia, 2016 – project manager for a client in the air transport industry: Airline Performance Review, to understand gaps and opportunities for development of the local air transport sector.

Mozambique, 2016 – project manager for a client in the air transport industry: Airline Performance Review, as preparation for the airlines’ restructuring and privatization.

Dubai/Pakistan, 2015 – project manager for a governmental entity: technical due diligence and strategic assessment of the national airline, as part of its upcoming privatization.

Argentina, 2012 – subject matter expert for a client in the air transport industry: evaluation of current fleet and network requirements, analysis of alternative aircraft options, development of short-term fleet strategy.

Russia, 2011 – overall project management for a client in the air transport industry: market study to identify current network management and fleet planning practices, and requirements for new aircraft solutions, while testing the accepatbility of a new aircraft concept currently being developed.

Bulgaria, 2010 – subject matter expert within a commercial restructuring project of a local airline: assessment of its network and fleet structure in order to identify improvement potentials.

Lybia, 2009 – overall project management for a client in the air transport industry: pre-assessment of the key strategic challenges the airline is facing.

Russia, 2009 – overall project management for a client in the air transport industry: identification of cost-reduction measures in key operational areas of the airline.

Russia, 2009 – overall project management for a client in the air transport industry: market study to test the accepatbility of a new design to be developed by the client, an aircraft manufacturer.

Hungary, 2009 – overall project management for a client in the air transport industry to financially and commercially assess an airline, highlighting short term needs, development opportunities and long-term sustainability prospects.

Rwanda, 2008 – overall project management of a 10-Year Strategic Plan and 5-Year Business Plan development project for a client in the air transport industry, including network and fleet plans, capacity building and investment requirements, as well as an internal and external market assessment.

Tanzania, 2008 – design, organization and moderation of a 2-day workshop for a client in the air transport industry: identification of strategic factors in the local market and industry, SWOT analysis, preconditions for growth.

Saudi Arabia, 2008 – overall project management for a client in the air transport industry: assessment of the qualifications and skills of middle management as a means of developing the company’s human resources.

Ukraine, 2008 – overall project management for a client in the air transport industry: drawing up a cost-reduction programme and operational benchmarking.
